I had heard earlier today - and did not report - that Biden was the nominee. I didn’t report on it because rumors aren’t fact. But it looks like - it’s true.

I now see Fox, CNN, and MSNBC all reporting that Biden has been selected as Sen. Obama’s Vice Presidential nominee.

I think this is a good day for Republicans. While it is not a earth-shattering pick for Obama - it highlights his weaknesses on foreign policy… and it has permanently alienated the Hillary supporters. Biden is a good campaigner, but people don’t elect Vice Presidents.

Biden also has a 30 year history as a liberal Senator that will energize many on the right who might have otherwise wanted to just ignore (or sit out) this election. Biden’s record will also provide the RNC a field day. Biden’s record will highlight everything that Obama’s does not.

I also find it so fitting that after the “Manhattan” Operation type secrecy - it leaks out when no one is watching at 12 midnight tonight.

It will make for a good race - Biden is a good campaigner… I look forward to the debates.
