Abraham Lincoln: Freed the Slaves, Saved the Union, and dates Hillary?

Washington, D.C. (rightcommentary.com): When asked who she’d go out with on a date — with any celebrity, living or dead — and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton chose . . . Abraham Lincoln?

Her fantasy date would be with President Abraham Lincoln, Clinton said in an interview being published in the People magazine hitting newsstands tomorrow. I can see it now, the Moon, the stars, wine, an elegant dinner…

The question: “If your husband gave you a pass for one night and you could go on a date with any celeb, alive or dead, who would it be?”

Clinton’s answer: “That’s such a dangerous question! How about Abraham Lincoln?”

Lincoln? Lincoln?

I’ll say it again - LINCOLN?

I can’t help it - she gets to chose from ANYONE in the world - alive or dead - and the person she chose is the FOUNDER OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!?

Does anyone but me see the irony in this?

Self described as having been a “Goldwater Girl” at one time, I am wondering if she would like to return back to the fold? I mean - she could have picked some Liberal guy… I mean… how about Che - he’s always popular with liberal ladies… or George Clooney… or heck AL GORE… or I donno - Bono… or go the “historical figure” route and choose like Jesus Christ… or God…or I donno - perhaps Rev. Wright? Anybody. But she blurts out Lincoln? Perhaps she can’t escape - despite years of deeply steeped in liberal socialism - her formative roots of Goldwater conservatism.

… on the other hand, Hillary may want to have dinner with Abe to stick a fork through his chest and end the “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” at its earliest roots. Poor old Honest Abe - instead of being shot during “Our American Cousin” at Ford’s theatre - winds up face down in fois gras, with a fork in his head…

Lincoln freed the slaves, saved the Union, and was one of the greatest Presidents in our history. I just can’t fathom asking “Honest Abe” to shoulder the mantle one more time, and date Hillary.
That’s just too big of a burden… and too big of a risk for Republicans.

(I kid of course - but I’m still flabbergasted! Lincoln?)
